Is touching the top of the backboard possible?
For NBA maniacs, discussion about touching the top of the backboard is old fashioned but always enjoyable issue. There're a lot of 'believe it or not' stories in NBA regarding jumping such as "Kevin Garnett can put a coin on the backboard and collect it easily just with sargent jump" and "Clyde Drexler could dunk on the 12 feet height hoop".
Let's calculate simply to understand how difficult touching the top is. Basically the height of the top of the backboard is 13 feet, 395cm. Dwight Howard - famous for his athleticism - jumps 33 inches from the ground and his standing reach's 9ft 3.5inches. That means he can reach 12.1 ft from the ground (111.5(9ft 3.5)+33 = 144.5 = 12.1 ft) and still lack of inches to reach 13 ft.
There're couple of >>evidences<< on YouTube which show it's possible to touch the top of the backboard. Check it. It's possible job, but not for me, damn :X
